Summary
Fully responsible to monitor, review, manage, formulate mould modification plan and mould repair process.
Job Responsibilities
- Set up and validate new moulds, materials, and injection moulding processes, including IQ/OQ/PQ, process capability studies, and validation.
- Accountable, lead and follow-up transfer of the mould inspection, mould transfer, ensuring the related information was provided and supporting the production team.
- Coordinate maintenance of moulds; specify repair or alteration of moulds and automation while ensuring adequate documentation is maintained.
- Troubleshoot moulding defects such as flash, short shot, sink marks, warpage, burn marks, weld lines, bubbles, and dimensional variations using scientific moulding principles.
- Plan and executive preventive maintenance activities for injection moulding machines, moulds, hot runner systems and auxiliary equipment. Work closely with mould makers for repairs and modification.
- Prepare and maintain documentation, procedure, control plan, risk analysis, troubleshooting SOP and guideline accordingly to ISO13485 standard.
- Provide guidance, training and coaching to technicians on machine monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting and improvement projects.
- Responsible for machine up time and readiness for production.
- Ensure adequate spare part inventory to support production and prepare monthly spare part purchase plan.
- Involved in engineering projects such as cost reduction, OEE improvement, second source qualification and yield improvement.
- Ensure 5S, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety & health protocols compliances.
Qualifications
- Education Level: Degree in Engineering or Diploma holder with minimum 5 years working experience. Preferably Plastics Engineering, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related discipline.
- Year of Experience: Preferable min 2-3 years related experience in injection molding environment. Experience working in cleanroom environment will be added advantage.
- Capability: Demonstrates hands-on experience machining machine, injection moulding and tooling management.
- Skills: Knowledge in analytical software Minitab & design software AutoCAD.
- Language: English & Bahasa Malaysia are must, Japanese and others will be added advantage.
