Service Request Management
- Review request and information provided by users.
- Communicate with users if insufficient details are provided and execute accordingly with high level of accuracy.
Incident Management
- Review information, incidents, problems and analysis collected and escalated by IT Help Desk team.
- Incident tickets resolving with root-cause analysis, troubleshooting and providing advises on MSSQL RDBMS
Change Request Management
- Evaluate database Change Requests (CR) for enhancements and fixes.
- Ensure the integrity of the application system, new business practices, processes and enhancements are understood by the General Applications team.
- Handle and deliver Service Requests (SR), Incident Reports (IR) and Change Requests (CR) within agreed defined SLA and KPI. Assist and support Function/team Leads in planning, coordinating, and ensuring timely and quality delivery of CR enhancements
- Experience in managing MSSQL database
- Proactive monitoring, diagnosing and resolving performance issue in the database
- Expertise in designing and installing MSSQL standalone and cluster environments
- Implement and maintain database backup and recovery strategies to minimize data loss and downtime
- Expertise in troubleshooting and resolving database and instance corruption issues
- Able to provide consultation to the developers in query tuning and schema refinement
- Performing scheduled maintenance and supporting release deployment activities after hours
- Ensuring high levels of performance, availability, sustainability and security
- Ensure all supported databases are in compliance with IT security policy
- Plan and execute Database patching and upgrade projects
- Providing on call availability for 24x7 support for critical production systems
- Create and maintain documentation for database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
- Perform regular database maintenance tasks, such as index rebuilding, query optimization, and database tuning
- Liaise with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective use of database resources
- Candidate must possess degree in IT/Computer Science, Business or in any discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of working experience with MSSQL database. Knowledge in Oracle or any other RDBMS will be an added advantage.
