Job Description:

The Member of Technical Staff (MTS) in Product Development Engineering will play a critical role in developing and validating advanced test methodologies for Altera's FPGA products. This position requires deep technical expertise in full‑chip test methods, on‑chip DFT (Design‑for‑Test) definition and verification, and silicon debug. The role combines hands‑on engineering with leadership in cross‑functional collaboration, ensuring robust test capability, optimized manufacturing processes, and high‑quality product delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test Method Development: Define, develop, verify, and optimize full‑chip test methodologies, including on‑chip DFT strategies, test vector generation, and coverage analysis.
  • ATE Program Development: Design and implement automated test equipment (ATE) programs, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Silicon Debug: Lead first‑silicon debug activities, driving root‑cause analysis and corrective actions to ensure product reliability.
  • Cross‑functional Collaboration: Work closely with global teams in design, software, manufacturing, and product engineering to embed test capability throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Test Optimization: Drive continuous improvements to reduce test cost, enhance product quality, improve manufacturing efficiency, and accelerate production stability.
  • Module Development: Develop CMT/HMDT test modules, convert test patterns from STIL to pobj, and validate test programs on testers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in semiconductor product development, test engineering, or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of digital and analog circuits, with proven experience in FPGA product development and test methodologies.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as TCL and PERL, with strong debugging and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with demonstrated success in resolving complex technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across global, cross‑functional teams.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and fostering collaborative, high‑performance teams.
