Job Description
- Manage import and export customs clearance activities.
- Prepare and review customs declarations and supporting documents.
- Ensure compliance with customs laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal teams.
- Verify tariff classification, customs value, duties, taxes, and country of origin.
- Monitor shipments and resolve customs clearance issues or delays.
- Maintain accurate customs records and documentation.
- Support customs audits, investigations, and compliance reviews.
- Identify and escalate customs risks, discrepancies, and non-compliance.
- Support process improvements to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
The Successful Applicant
- Degree: Candidates at all levels should ideally have a relevant degree, such as Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, International Trade, or a related field.
- SAP experience: Good working knowledge of SAP is important, particularly experience with relevant transactions and processes.
- Junior level: Strong foundation, willingness to learn, and some exposure to customs/logistics processes.
- Mid level: Relevant experience in customs operations, SAP, documentation, and handling clearance issues independently.
- Senior level: Strong customs knowledge, SAP expertise, stakeholder management, compliance experience, and ability to handle complex issues and escalations.
- Leadership level: Experience managing customs operations/teams, driving compliance, improving processes, and managing key stakeholders.
