We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Security Engineer to join our dynamic team , Malaysia. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in network security principles and practices, with a particular emphasis on Cisco technologies. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our network infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage network security solutions to protect the organization‿s data and infrastructure.
- Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure network configurations and compliance with security policies.
- Maintain and update security documentation, including policies, procedures, and incident reports.
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members and stakeholders regarding network security best practices.
- Stay current with emerging security threats and technologies to enhance the organization‿s security posture.
Mandatory Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) principles and practices.
- Experience with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and other security technologies.
- Proficiency in network protocols and services, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing/switching.
- Hands on experience with network monitoring and analysis tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve network security issues effectively.
Preferred Skills:
- Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud security concepts and technologies.
- Experience with security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation tasks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor‿s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in network security or a related role.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced environment.
