Why This Role Matters

Finexus operates mission-critical infrastructure that powers Malaysia's financial ecosystem. Our networks support high-availability transaction processing, secure connectivity, cloud workloads, data centre operations, and regulatory-compliant environments. The Network Engineer Lead ensures that this foundation is stable, secure, resilient, and future-ready.

This role is pivotal: the decisions you make influence system uptime, security posture, incident response, cloud and data centre performance, and the reliability of every product and platform Finexus delivers.

About the Role

The Network Engineer Lead oversees the full lifecycle of network infrastructure across development, UAT, production, and cloud environments. This includes architecture design, implementation, monitoring, troubleshooting, automation, and continuous improvement.

You will lead a team of Network Engineers, providing technical direction, coaching, and performance guidance. The role partners closely with Security, Cloud, Application, Infrastructure, and Compliance teams to ensure network operations meet high availability, security, and regulatory standards.

  • Execute vulnerability management: firmware upgrades, patching, and remediation.
  • Lead cabling activities: laying, crimping, testing, tracing.
  • Oversee midnight/weekend maintenance windows and high-severity incident handling.

Troubleshooting & Monitoring

  • Lead diagnostics for packet loss, timeout, routing issues, and connectivity failures.
  • Use tools such as ping, telnet, traceroute, nslookup/dig, tcpdump, and Wireshark.
  • Implement and refine SNMP monitoring and alerting to support rapid incident response.

Security, Compliance & Audits

  • Ensure adherence to PCI-DSS, PCI-3DS, PCI-PIN, ISO27001, ISO9001, SOC-2, BNM RMiT, and other regulatory frameworks.
  • Coordinate and prepare audit evidence for compliance, certifications, and due diligence.

  • Lead, coach, and develop Network Engineers to deliver high-quality operational results.
  • Set objectives, monitor performance, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
  • Promote operational discipline: documentation, SOPs, change control, and post-incident reviews.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Application, Cloud, Security, Operations, and Compliance teams to ensure seamless network connectivity.
  • Participate in BCP and DR exercises, ensuring network readiness and redundancy.
  • Support deployment and go-live activities for internal and customer-facing systems.
