We Are Looking For:
The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, deployment, support monitoring and optimization of the data center's network infrastructure. This includes LAN, WAN, SAN and interconnects, ensuring security, scalability and uptime in a critical facility 24/7 environment. The role requires hands-on technical expertise, the ability to lead network projects and collaboration with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Your Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, SAN and structured cabling Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP).
- Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and network monitoring tools.
- Design and implement network upgrades, expansions and high-availability architecture (e.g. spine-leaf).
- Ensure network security by managing firewalls, IDS/IPS and enforcing security policies.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and respond to security incidents.
- Provide support, perform root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes.
- Maintain up-to-date network documentation, performance reports and inventory.
- Collaborate with IT, operations, vendors and service providers for support and project execution.
- Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours maintenance activities.
Qualities You Should Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
- CCNA, CCNP, CCIE (DC), JNCIE-DC or equivalent certifications.
- ITIL & cybersecurity related certifications (e.g. CEH, CompTIA Security+) are added advantages
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Network Engineer in a data center or critical facility. Candidates with more than 6 years of experience may be considered for a senior role, provided they are technically strong.
- Strong skills of TCP/IP, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, STP, MPLS, VPN.
- Experience with structured cabling (fiber/copper), OSP/ISP cabling and cable management.
- Skilled in using network monitoring/alerting tools and software upgrade procedure.
- Familiarity with virtualization, storage networking and hybrid connectivity is an advantage.
- Experience with enterprise routing/switching, firewall management and data center interconnect (DCI) technologies.
- Understanding and operation adherence of ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, SOC2 or any equivalent compliance
- Ability to work effectively within tight SLAs in a critical facility 24/7 environment.
- Team player with leadership qualities and the ability to guide junior engineers.
- Project management and vendor coordination skills are desirable
