Job Role: Network Engineer/Specialist

Role Overview

MetLife is seeking a Network Engineer/Specialist to design, implement, and maintain secure, high-performance, and scalable network solutions across global enterprise environments. This role ensures network reliability, security, and optimization to support critical business operations. The position involves advanced troubleshooting, architecture design, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to enable seamless connectivity and compliance with industry standards.

Network Operations & Support:

• Provide lifecycle management for enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, and wireless solutions.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot incidents, and resolve complex connectivity issues.
• Ensure compliance with security policies, patching, and configuration standards.

Solution Design & Implementation:

• Design and deploy network solutions for data centers, cloud environments, and branch offices.
• Implement automation for network provisioning and configuration management.
• Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to integrate firewalls, load balancers, and zero-trust solutions.

Technical Leadership & Continuous Improvement:

• Lead network architecture projects and mentor junior engineers.
• Drive adoption of emerging technologies such as SDN, SASE, and cloud networking.
• Optimize network performance, reliability, and cost efficiency through proactive analysis and improvements.
• Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience:

• 7–12 years of hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering and operations.

Skills:

• Strong expertise in routing, switching, and network security (Cisco, Palo Alto, Zscaler).
• Proficiency in WAN optimization, SD-WAN technologies, and VPN solutions.
• Familiarity with cloud networking (Azure/AWS), network automation tools, and monitoring platforms.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network protocols.
• Experience with network architecture design and implementation in large-scale environments.

Preferred Certifications:

• Cisco CCNP/CCIE, Palo Alto PCNSE, or equivalent certifications.
• ITIL v4 certification is a plus.

Language:

• Business proficiency in English.
• Proficiency in Japanese will be an added advantage.
