The Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly skilled Network Infrastructure Engineer (L2) to be placed on a contract engagement within the finance sector. Based onsite in Kuala Lumpur, you will take ownership of F5 load balancing solutions and firewall infrastructure, ensuring network security, availability, and performance in a demanding enterprise environment.

What You'll Do

• Install, configure, and maintain F5 BIG-IP load balancers to ensure optimal performance and high availability.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to F5 load balancing, SSL offloading, and application delivery.

• Implement and manage next-generation firewall (NGFW) solutions, enforcing compliance with security policies and configuring firewall rules, ACLs, and VPNs.

• Conduct regular network performance monitoring, optimisations, and proactive incident response to minimise downtime.

• Perform security audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk management activities for firewall infrastructure.

• Collaborate with cross-functional internal and external teams to design and deploy high-availability, fault-tolerant network solutions.

• Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, security policies, and system changes, ensuring business continuity deliverables are met.

What We're Looking For

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent discipline.

• 5–6 years of hands-on experience in network engineering with a strong focus on F5 BIG-IP and firewall management.

• Proven expertise in next-generation firewalls (NGFW), ACLs, VPN configuration, and network security best practices.

• Solid experience with SD-WAN, specifically Cisco Viptela.

• Demonstrated ability to perform security audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk management.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a passion for technical detail and emerging technologies.

• Ability to work independently, gather technical requirements, and produce comprehensive technical documentation.
