Network Operations Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Perform installation, testing, and troubleshooting of copper and fiber cabling (patching, labeling, certification)
• Support rack & stack activities, including switch installation and cable management
• Assist in VLAN configuration and basic network setup under engineer guidance
• Execute basic switch configuration (port configuration, access/trunk setup) following standards
• Perform routine network health checks and escalate issues when required
• Support incident response for site connectivity issues (LAN, Wi-Fi, patching faults)
• Maintain accurate documentation (cabling maps, port assignments, patch panel records)
• Coordinate with vendors or contractors for structured cabling work
• Provide hands-on support during projects, moves, adds, changes (MAC) and site activities (e.g., cutover)

Must Have

• 2-5 years experience in network support or cabling-related role
• Basic troubleshooting skills and ability to follow runbooks
• Diploma / Degree in IT, Networking, or related field
• Experience working with Patch panels, racks, cable trays, labeling standards
• Strong understanding of Network fundamentals (IP, subnet, VLAN basics)
• Strong understanding of Structured cabling (copper & fiber)
