Summary
As an NPD Engineer specializing in Advanced Ceramics, you will lead the development and manufacturing of ultra-precision ceramic components. You will be the technical expert responsible for managing complex machining processes, ensuring micron-level dimensional accuracy, and optimizing manufacturing workflows for high-hardness materials (e.g., Alumina, Zirconia). This role is critical for the seamless transition of high-tech products from prototype design to full-scale production.
Responsibilities:
● Process Development: Design, optimize, and document manufacturing processes for advanced ceramic parts, specifically focusing on diamond grinding, lapping, and high-precision machining.
● Technical Execution: Lead mold trials, process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), and product testing to ensure components meet rigorous quality and dimensional specifications.
● Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including engineering drawings, BOMs, FMEA, Control Plans, and Work Instructions.
● Continuous Improvement: Champion Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) to improve cycle times, reduce material scrap, and enhance process stability.
● Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with Quality, Production, and Procurement to troubleshoot technical issues and support successful product launches.
Requirements:
● Education: Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Materials Engineering.
● Technical Skills: Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience in machining hard materials
(Advanced Ceramics/Hard Metals).
● Precision Focus: Proven ability to manage and maintain micron-level dimensional tolerances in a high-volume production environment.
● Process Knowledge: Experience with diamond grinding, lapping, or similar high-precision ceramic shaping techniques.
● Software: Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks, Mastercam, or equivalent).
● [Optional] Experience in the semiconductor or aerospace components sector.
● [Optional] Knowledge of IATF 16949 or ISO 9001 standards.
● [Optional] Basic understanding of sintering/kiln profiles, even if the primary focus is machining.
● [Optional] Six Sigma Green Belt or similar process improvement methodology.
