Company Description: UCSI Hospital is a modern facility in Bandar Springhill, Lukut, Negeri Sembilan, designed to provide world-class care within the community. The hospital offers a wide range of specialties, including anaesthesiology, cardiology, gastroenterology, internal medicine, nephrology, obstetrics and gynecology, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics, pathology, radiology, and respiratory medicine. Opened in 2021 as a 130-bed hospital on a 40-acre site, it is planned to grow organically to a capacity of up to 1,000 beds. Role Description: The Occupational Health Doctor is a full-time, on-site role based in Bandar Springhill, Lukut, focused on safeguarding the health and safety of employees and supporting workplace wellness. The role includes conducting pre-employment, periodic, and fitness-for-duty medical examinations, along with health surveillance for workers exposed to specific occupational risks. The Occupational Health Doctor will assess and manage work-related injuries and illnesses, provide clinical consultations, and recommend appropriate interventions or referrals. Responsibilities also include advising on workplace health policies, supporting compliance with occupational health regulations, and collaborating with management, HR, and safety teams on health promotion programs. The role involves maintaining accurate medical records, preparing reports, and participating in audits, training, and emergency response planning.

Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and valid registration with the appropriate medical council; postgraduate training or certification in occupational health or occupational medicine is strongly preferred.
  • Relevant clinical experience in occupational health, internal medicine, emergency medicine, or related fields, preferably within hospital or industrial settings.
  • Knowledge of occupational health regulations, workplace safety standards, and best practices in health surveillance, risk assessment, and ergonomics.
  • Strong skills in clinical assessment, diagnostic reasoning, and management of work-related injuries, illnesses, and chronic conditions.
  • Ability to design and support health promotion initiatives, vaccination programs, and wellness campaigns tailored to diverse workforce needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and interacting with employees at all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate medical documentation, preparing occupational health reports, and using hospital information systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, handle confidential information responsibly, and make sound decisions under time-sensitive conditions.
  • Flexibility to participate in emergency response planning, drills, and after-hours support when required.
