Role Objective:
To ensure the effective implementation of occupational health programs and provide medical services to employees, in line with regulatory and company HSE requirements. This includes promoting health surveillance, managing workplace illness/injury cases, and supporting return-to-work programs to maintain a healthy workforce and reduce absenteeism.
Job Scopes:
Clinical
- Provide and deliver basic nursing care and medical treatment for employees during working hours.
- Operate In-House Clinic in compliance with all applicable government regulations and industry best practices.
Occupational Health Services (OHS)
- Promote and implement workplace wellness programs, including mental health support and healthy lifestyle campaigns.
- Chemical Health Risk Assessment (CHRA): Organize CHRA exercises and advise the HSE Manager on recommendations made by the registered assessor.
- Noise Risk Assessment (NRA): Coordinate NRA exercises and provide follow-up action recommendations to HSE Manager.
- Chemical Exposure Monitoring (CEM): Plan and oversee CEM activities as per consultant's advice and regulatory requirements.
- Audiometric Testing Program: Implement yearly hearing conservation program in accordance with DOSH and ICOP guidelines.
- Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Program (DFWP): As a certified Assistant Medical Review Officer (AMRO), perform in-house urine drug and alcohol testing. Organize Drug-Free Awareness campaigns for all employees.
- Medical Surveillance: Ensure proper scheduling and compliance with recommended medical surveillance based on health risk assessment reports.
Administration
- Maintain confidential and accurate employee medical records in compliance with PDPA and company policy.
- Submit monthly health report and weekly occupational health progress update to HSE Manager.
- Serve as HSE representative in Safety Committee Meetings.
- Serve as Food Hygiene and Handler Advisor in the Canteen Committee.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Nursing, recognized by the Malaysian Nursing Board.
- Certified Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) by NIOSH or equivalent body. (Added Advantage)
- Certified Assistant Medical Review Officer (AMRO) for in-house drug testing. (Added Advantage)
- Minimum 35 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 2 years in an occupational health or industrial setting.
- Prior experience handling Medical Surveillance, DFWP, CHRA/NRA/CEM coordination and health promotion campaigns is preferred.
