Job Description

Occupational Safety and Health Officer (Contract Employee)

1.)Maintain and ensure compliance with OSHA standards, environmental safety guidelines, and company safety practices.

2.)Develop and implement Construction (Design and Management) (CDM) from start to end project.

3.)Conduct thorough risk assessments for project activities and identifying potential hazards.

4.)Preparing project documents related to EHS.

5.)Maintain detailed records of all safety related activities, incidents, training and compliance checks.

6.)Conduct Safety and Health Committee for projects

7.)Prepare and submit regular safety reports to management and relevant stakeholders.

8.)He shall assist CONTRACTOR's Construction Manager and coordinate with CONSULTANT's / OWNER's Safety Officer in implementing EHS procedure within their respective work groups. Familiarize them with all Government, CONSULTANT and OWNER's safety and health regulations, including reporting and work permit procedures.

9.)Inspect the construction area frequently to examine appropriate corrective actions and prepare reports to their Construction Manager.

10.)Review work methods and procedures and job Hazard analysis prepared by line supervisors. Co-ordinate with supervisors and foremen, participate in safety meetings and lead daily safety walks of the site. Job Hazard analysis (JHA) is the primary tool used at site to identify and plan to mitigate safety hazards. This form shall be discussed by the supervisor with the employees of each crew before starting a new activity and kept at the permit near the workplace for ready reference.

11.)Participate in toolbox talks assist in accident investigation and conduct safety- training classes for the workmen and suggest safety promotional activities.

12.)Responsible for effective management of Safe Systems of Work and PTW

13.)Responsible for implementation and management of the TMP

14.)Responsible for the safety KPIs, recording and improvements

15.)Responsible for the management and KPIs of the SOC system

16.)Responsible for the waste management systems and KPIs

MUST TO HAVE:

Hold a Diploma or bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health or an equivalent thereof from any professional body or institution, approved by the Malaysian Ministry on recommendation of the Director General

Hold Green Book Registration

Has successfully completed a course of training in Occupational Safety and Health and Passed relevant examination of that course which is approved by the Malaysian ministry on the recommendation of the director General

Has a minimum of 10 years experience in Occupational Safety and Health

Has been working in the area of Construction and Occupational Safety and health for a period of at least 10 years

Must be well-versed with Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2024 - CDM
