Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Occupational Therapist role based in Ipoh. The Occupational Therapist will assess patients functional abilities, develop individualized treatment plans, and implement evidence-based interventions to improve daily living skills, mobility, and independence. Daily responsibilities include conducting patient evaluations, delivering therapy sessions, monitoring progress, and updating documentation in line with clinical and regulatory standards. The role involves collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians and allied health professionals, to coordinate holistic rehabilitation plans. The Occupational Therapist will also educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, adaptive techniques, and use of assistive devices to support ongoing recovery.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Occupational Therapy, including assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of rehabilitation programs.
- Candidates should possess fundamental knowledge of Medicine relevant to clinical practice, including understanding of medical conditions, contraindications, and safe therapeutic interventions.
- Candidates should possess competencies in Rehabilitation, such as functional training, use of assistive devices, and interdisciplinary care coordination.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare teams, including clear documentation and patient education.
- Candidates should possess experience or interest in Pediatrics, including working with children and adolescents with developmental, physical, or cognitive challenges.
- Recognized degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy and registration with the appropriate professional body.
- Clinical experience in hospital or rehabilitation settings, preferably within multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage caseloads efficiently, and maintain high standards of patient-centered care.
