Role Description The OCI Cloud Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Ampang, responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments. Day-to-day tasks include provisioning and configuring cloud resources, managing compute, storage, networking, and databases, and ensuring high availability, performance, and security of cloud workloads. The engineer collaborates with development, infrastructure, and security teams to support application deployments, automate workflows using scripting and DevOps tools, and optimize cloud architectures based on best practices. The role also involves monitoring systems, troubleshooting issues, performing root-cause analysis, and maintaining documentation and standards for OCI implementations. Participation in continuous improvement initiatives, compliance with organizational policies, and support for incident and change management processes are key responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Strong Cloud Computing skills, with hands-on experience in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and familiarity with other major cloud platforms.
- Solid Infrastructure skills in areas such as networking, storage, virtualization, and system administration for enterprise environments.
- Proficiency with Linux operating systems, including shell scripting, performance tuning, and security hardening.
- Experience with Databases, including deployment, configuration, backup/restore, and performance optimization in cloud or hybrid environments.
- Background in Software Development or scripting (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) to automate infrastructure deployment and management.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines) and infrastructure as code concepts.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure certifications) are highly beneficial.
