Your Job
As an Officer, Purchasing (Contract) you will be responsible for managing and executing purchasing activities in alignment with organizational policies and company goals.
This is a 6-month contract position with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.
Our Team
You will be part of the Consumer & Commercial Solution Division at Molex Malaysia (MXL), working closely with a wide range of internal stakeholders including planning, production, delivery management, finance, warehouse & logistics, product managers, sourcing, project management, and quality teams. Externally, you will maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
What You Will Do
- Manage and resolve purchasing issues like delivery delays, quality problems, disputes, or contractual breaches to minimize operational impact.
- Communicate effectively with subcontractors and vendors while collaborating with internal stakeholders to find timely and efficient solutions.
- Collaborate across departments to forecast demand, plan inventory levels, and ensure the timely delivery of goods.
- Monitor and manage inventory to maintain adequate stock levels and minimize waste.
- Handle the full purchasing process from requisition to purchase order issuance and delivery, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Build strong working relationships and foster teamwork within your network.
- Work closely with suppliers and the Quality Assurance team to resolve any quality issues promptly.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Minimum education: SPM or STPM, or a qualification in Business Administration.
- 2 to 3 years of practical experience in Purchasing.
- Strong understanding of purchasing principles and processes.
- Self-driven and results-oriented with a positive attitude and clear focus on delivery, expediting, and cost management.
- Proficient in procurement software and familiar with Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Outlook.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Qualifications)
- Knowledge of SAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint.
- Experience with Power BI for data analysis and reporting
