The OpenShift Engineer will be responsible for designing, deploying, securing, and maintaining Red Hat OpenShift container platforms across the insurance organization. This role requires strong hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift clusters (ROSA/ARO/On‑Prem), Operators, GitOps, CI/CD, and platform automation. The engineer will collaborate with Cloud, DevOps, Security, and Application teams to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant container platforms supporting mission‑critical insurance workloads such as claims, underwriting, policy administration, and digital customer portals.
Platform Engineering & Deployment
Deploy, configure, and maintain OpenShift clusters (on‑prem, ROSA, ARO, or hybrid).
Manage cluster lifecycle, upgrades, Operators, MachineSets, and node scaling.Configure OpenShift networking (Ingress, Routes, Service Mesh, SDN).
Implement multi‑tenant architectures for insurance workloads.
Automation & CI/CD
Automate cluster provisioning using Terraform, Ansible, Helm, and GitOps (ArgoCD, OpenShift GitOps).
Integrate OpenShift with CI/CD pipelines (Tekton, Jenkins, GitLab CI).Build reusable automation modules for cluster upgrades, patching, and application onboarding.
Security & Compliance
Implement OpenShift security policies (SCCs, RBAC, NetworkPolicies, Pod Security).
Ensure compliance with insurance regulatory requirements (auditability, data protection, workload isolation).Integrate image scanning, secure supply chain, and vulnerability management.
Monitoring & Reliability
Configure monitoring using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenShift Monitoring, and Logging.
Troubleshoot cluster issues (networking, storage, Operators, workloads).Implement backup and DR strategies for OpenShift workloads.
Collaboration & Governance
Work with App‑Dev teams to onboard microservices and modernize legacy insurance applications.
Partner with Security and Cloud teams to enforce governance, tagging, and policy frameworks.Document platform architecture, SOPs, and incident RCA reports.
OpenShift & Kubernetes
Strong experience with OpenShift 4.x, Operators, MachineSets, SCCs, Routes, and GitOps.
Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture, networking, RBAC, storage, and workload management.Experience with Helm, Kustomize, YAML, and CI/CD pipelines.
Cloud & Infrastructure
Hands‑on experience with AWS, Azure, vSphere, or hybrid OpenShift deployments.
Knowledge of container registries (Quay, ECR, ACR, Docker Hub).
DevOps & Automation
Strong skills in Terraform, Ansible, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automation scripting (Python, Bash).
Experience with service mesh (Istio), ingress controllers, and API gateways.
Security & Compliance
Knowledge of SCCs, Pod Security, OPA/Gatekeeper, image scanning, and secure supply chain.
Familiarity with insurance compliance requirements (audit logs, data residency, workload isolation).
Non‑Technical Requirements
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and cross‑team collaboration.Ability to translate platform concepts for business stakeholders.
High adaptability and eagerness to stay current with OpenShift and Kubernetes technologies.

Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration
Red Hat Certified Specialist in Containers & KubernetesRed Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
