Job Description

Overview

The Operational Audit Executive is responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of operational controls, risk management, and governance processes across Lotus's Malaysia retail stores. This role involves frequent physical visits to stores nationwide to assess compliance, identify operational gaps, and recommend improvements that enhance efficiency, accountability, and internal control adherence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct operational audits across all Lotus's Malaysia stores, including scheduled and ad-hoc physical visits nationwide
  • Evaluate store-level processes such as cash handling, inventory management, procurement, and compliance with internal policies
  • Identify control weaknesses, inefficiencies, and risks, and provide practical recommendations for improvement
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and standard operating procedures
  • Perform audit testing, data analysis, and documentation of findings
  • Prepare detailed audit reports with clear observations, risk ratings, and actionable recommendations
  • Follow up on audit findings to ensure timely implementation of corrective actions
  • Collaborate with store management and functional teams to strengthen internal controls and operational effectiveness
  • Support investigations into suspected fraud, misconduct, or operational irregularities when required
  • Accountable for meeting deliverables, adhering to department and professional standards and utilizing consistent methodology
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of audit methodologies and tools
  • Participate in audit planning and risk insight development
  • Advise stakeholders on Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; or if you have
  • a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in internal audit, operational audit, or retail audit environment
  • Strong understanding of retail operations, internal controls, and risk management
  • Compulsory to travel extensively across Malaysia and conduct physical store visits
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments
