The Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring our solar power plants operate at optimal performance. As a key member of the renewable energy operations team, you will oversee system performance, resolve technical issues, and drive high availability and reliability across our PV assets.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical input and support to the Head, RE Asset Management (Malaysia) for cost evaluations related to time-and-material repairs and overall plant improvement initiatives;
- Liaise with external vendors and suppliers to resolve technical issues related to equipment and system performance;
- Witness and verify Testing and Commissioning activities carried out by Operators or EPC contractors;
- Ensure solar engineering works meet required technical quality, accuracy, and engineering standards by reviewing and signing off on EPC project deliverables as part of Initial and Final Acceptance processes;
- Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to ensure all outputs comply with contractual requirements, industry standards, and best practices;
- Prepare and submit periodic operational and plant performance reports with accurate data to support budgeting, analysis, and performance optimisation;
- Supervise and manage contractors to ensure assigned scopes are delivered on time, within scope, and to the required quality standards;
- Contribute to the training, supervision, motivation, and development of team members while actively pursuing continuous professional development through self-assessment, industry benchmarking, continuous learning, and adoption of best practices to drive ongoing improvement and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field in Engineering Technology;
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience in renewable energy or energy industry;
- Sound knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to solar PV systems and O&M activities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders, contractors, and external partners.
