Open to Malaysian Only -- To lead and oversee the Company's manufacturing operations to achieve operational excellence, ensuring safe, efficient and cost-effective production. The incumbent is responsible for production planning, operational performance, engineering and maintenance activities, continuous improvement initiatives, and resource optimization to support the Company's business objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations Management
- Lead and oversee the daily operations of the manufacturing facilities to ensure production targets, quality standards and delivery commitments are achieved.
- Develop operational plans and coordinate resources to support production requirements, particularly during the durian season.
- Work closely with Production, Supply Chain, Quality and other departments to ensure smooth plant operations.
- Monitor and improve productivity, efficiency, capacity utilization and operational costs.
- Oversee factory operations at Bentong and occasionally at Tangkak or any other manufacturing facilities as assigned.
- Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives, Lean Manufacturing and best practices.
Engineering & Maintenance (Added Advantage)
- Oversee engineering, maintenance and technical support activities to ensure high equipment reliability and plant availability.
- Plan and implement preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programmes.
- Identify opportunities for automation, process optimization and equipment upgrades to improve operational efficiency.
- Provide engineering solutions to resolve technical and equipment-related issues.
- Lead plant modernization and digitization initiatives where applicable.
- Manage maintenance OPEX and CAPEX budgets and ensure optimum utilization of resources.
- Develop maintenance competency through training and coaching of technicians.
Project & Continuous Improvement
- Lead cross-functional improvement projects to enhance productivity, quality, safety and operational efficiency.
- Evaluate new technologies, equipment and process improvements that support business growth.
- Monitor project implementation, timelines and performance outcomes.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, company policies, food safety, quality, environmental and occupational safety standards.
- Promote a culture of safety, continuous improvement and operational discipline.
Leadership
- Lead, coach and develop the operations and maintenance teams to achieve departmental objectives.
- Perform any other duties assigned by Management.
Experience
- Minimum 8 years experience in manufacturing operations.
- Experience in managing production operations is preferred.
- Experience in engineering, maintenance or automation will be an added advantage.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations and production planning.
- Good leadership and people management skills.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Experience in maintenance management and asset reliability is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of automation, utilities, wastewater treatment and boiler systems will be an added advantage.
- Good analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing KPIs.
Training
Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, ISO Management Systems, Root Cause Analysis, TPM, Project Management or related operational excellence programmes.
