Job Description

Our client, a leading regional financial services and investment firm, is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day activities within their Operations Department, covering trade processing, trade confirmation, trading support, and client servicing functions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Brokerage or Securities Operations, with hands-on knowledge of Bursa Malaysia market practices and settlement procedures. This role will suit someone who enjoys a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is confident in leading operational teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and service excellence.

Key responsibilities

Trade processing

  • Ensure accurate booking and reporting.
  • Follow up with daily trade reconciliation.
  • Monitor sub-account setup.

Trade confirmation

  • Ensuring that clients expectations on trade confirmation timing is met.
  • Manual confirmation if required.

Trading and Sales Support

  • Building solid relationship with front office (trading, sales and sales trading), working closely to respond to client settlement queries.
  • Follow up with CLSA regional office to assist local clients resolve any issues with offshore trades.
  • Prompt escalation to Sales Trading and Dealing team of any errors or discrepancies post trade execution.

Client Service

  • Maintain good relationship with the client for all Operations related matters.
  • Follow up on all client settlement queries with Clearing agents and Settlement departments.

Others

  • Ad-hoc and periodic Regulatory Reporting.
  • Provide any guidance and support to team members to meet their individual and team objectives.
  • Challenge processes and procedures, suggest and implement changes where appropriate and necessary.
  • Working with IT to specify business requirements (BRD) for enhancements of new applications/reports.
  • Allocate resources for UAT participation.

Role requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in business administration, Finance or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years relevant working experience, with at least 5 years in Brokerage Securities Operations.
  • Strong organizational / problem-solving / client serving skills.
  • Self-motivated and possesses good interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth understanding of Bursa Malaysia settlement rules and processes.
  • Solid knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Applications such as Word and Excel.
  • Excellent command of / fluent in both spoken and written English.
