Operations Specialist

JOB PURPOSE

To meet and exceed quality objectives by improving the import and export clearance lead time.

To meet the cut off time for export shipment by releasing to port authority.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

1. Major Activities:

- To prepare and to submit custom declaration form to custom and carry out Export/Import operation activities efficiently and to satisfactory completion.

- To liase with shipping agent, port authority, licensing authority and customer for releasing of Export/Import consignment

- To arrange with trucking department, truckers or hauliers for collection/deliveries of Export/Import consignment.

- To sort out all relevant documents and attachment properly after completion of clearance to customers or to billing personnel.

- To monitor promptly deliveries/ pick up to customers and ensure objectives is met

- To attend LCL cargo loading at different CFS warehouse.

- To attend Customs Seal –K8

- To key in and submit K4 manifest in EDI

- To adhere customer's standard operating procedures.

- To undertake other assignment from reporting superior.

2. Self-Organization:

- Plan daily task

- Plan job handling according to priority

3. Administrative:

- Maintain all Quality Records

- Confidentially not to divulge all matters, transactions or interests pertaining to company matters.

4. Company Relations:

- Comply with all company policies

- Work, develop positive relationships, communicate and coordinate activities with colleagues, trucker/haulier/port/customs etc

JOB REQUIREMENTS

- Minimum 4 years working experience in related field (forwarding/transportation/ freight industry)

- Minimum SPM/STPM/Diploma/Advance/Higher/Graduate in Diploma in Logistic/ Transportation or equivalent

- Have good and positive attitude, detail-orientated

- Have good communication and coordinating skills

- Able to work independently and in team & able to work under pressure in a fast moving environment

- Familiar with Import & Export lanes

- Proficiency in EDI system

- Knowledge of port and customs working patterns & procedure

- Knowledge of documentations requirements for Import & Export 

- Performing in forwarding clerk daily routine and monthly statistical report

- Able to read, write and converse in English and Malay language
