Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Cantonese Medical Interpreter specializing in Over-the-Phone Interpretation (OPI) and Video Remote Interpretation (VRI). The interpreter's responsibilities include facilitating accurate communication between medical professionals and Cantonese-speaking patients. The role requires interpreting medical conversations in real-time, maintaining confidentiality, following professional ethical standards, and utilizing medical terminology accurately while bridging language barriers in healthcare settings.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Medical Interpretation, with a strong grasp of medical terminology
- Expertise in Translation and Interpreting services, with the ability to facilitate effective communication
- Skills in Simultaneous Interpretation and adaptability to a fast-paced medical environment
- Fluent in Cantonese and English, with exceptional verbal and listening skills in both languages
- Certification or training in medical interpretation is preferred
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality
- Proficient in using communication software, with the ability to operate in a remote work setting
- Previous experience in medical settings is a plus
