About the Role
At Pentamaster Corporation Berhad, we are looking for a passionate Optics & Photonics Engineer to design and develop cutting-edge optical solutions for advanced ATE (Automated Test Equipment) systems.
In this role, you will work on exciting technologies such as optical emitters, sensors, silicon photonics, co-packaged optics, and module burn-in systems, contributing directly to next-generation innovations in the photonics and semiconductor industries.
What You'll Do
- Design and develop optical and photonics modules based on customer requirements and test specifications
- Create and optimize optical lens systems for beam focusing, shaping, and coupling performance
- Collaborate closely with customers, cross-functional teams, and suppliers to ensure successful and timely project delivery
- Analyze and optimize test systems to improve manufacturing yield and product performance
- Troubleshoot and debug ATE system failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
- Conduct research, prototyping, and proof-of-concept development to drive innovation and technical solutions
- Lead or contribute to the full project lifecycle: planning, design, development, validation, and continuous improvement
What You'll Own
- Product design inputs/outputs, specifications, and validation activities
- Optical system design and material selection
- Manufacturing processes, technologies, and tooling validation
- Project strategy, priorities, timelines, and execution
What We're Looking For
Qualifications
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Optics & Photonics or a related field
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in optical design or a related field (fresh graduates with strong fundamentals are encouraged to apply)
- Hands-on experience with optical design & simulation tools (e.g., Zemax or equivalent)
- Familiarity with optical components and measurement instruments (light sources, detectors, lenses, optical fibers)
