OS Patching Engineer

Role Description (LOCALS ONLY)

This is a full-time on-site role based in Kuala Lumpur for an OS Patching Engineer. The OS Patching Engineer will be responsible for maintaining system security through scheduled patch management for Windows, Linux, and other operating systems. Key responsibilities include implementing and monitoring patch updates, troubleshooting system vulnerabilities, performing regular health checks, and ensuring compliance with security policies and standards. Additionally, the engineer will be involved in documentation tasks and liaising with internal teams to meet operational goals.

Qualifications

• Strong hands on knowledge of servers
• DB (Cluster DB, Standalone, Snapshot)
• RDS
• Citrix VDI
• Startup / Shutdown Sequence 
• VMware / ILO
• Patching Software (ManageEngine) 
• At least 4 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position. 
• Experience in managing L2/L3 issues (Ability to systematically troubleshoot, research and diagnose root cause for an incident or problem) 
• Strong experience on core Windows (Window 2012 R2, 2016, 2019) 
• Experience in the following layered products are required: 
• Active Directory 
• DNS
• DHCP
• Exchange
• RDS / RDWeb
• TCP/IP
• IIS & FTP
• Citrix
• Backup Exec
• Veeam
• Scripting - Powershell
• Knowledge of following are desirable and advantageous: 
• Able to work on standby/shift (Including weekends and after office hours) 
• Certified or pursuing certification in: Microsoft MCSE, MCSA, ITIL Foundation 
• Monitoring Tools – Solarwinds
• ITSM – Symphony SummitAI
• Patching and Remote Deployment – ManageEngine Desktop Central Management
