Job Overview:

We are looking for a strategic and detail-oriented OSP Network Planner to join our team. In this role, you will lead the planning and exploration of new technologies in the Outside Plant (OSP) Network domain. You will develop strategies and monitor all planning requirements for OSP networks, including TRUNK, MAN, and CAN. Additionally, you will coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholderssuch as telecommunications operators, local authorities, and utility service providersto support network development, expansion, and relocation initiatives.

Your work life:

  • To plan, explore new technology in Outside Plant (OSP) Network field, strategize and monitor all the planning requirements for Outside Plant (OSP) Network including (TRUNK/MAN/CAN) for new deployment and network expansion to support business requirements.
  • Exploring new technology involve in Outside Plant (OSP) including (TRUNK/MAN/CAN).
  • Coordinate with other group (ie Transmission, Network Planning, Facilities, Data Centre etc) for project costing to fulfil the customer requirements.
  • Able to derive & provide training on OSP guideline, specification & method of statement to internal and external parties.
  • Being part of OSP tender for OSP materials and onsite projects including (TRUNK/MAN/CAN).
  • Produce and present reports team report to define project progress, problems and solutions for department need.
  • Manage and coordinate the SAP budget requirement and produce report prior to AR/PR/PO issuance and budget monitoring to meet the customer requirements and service required date.
  • Liaison and negotiation with other TELCOs, Local Authorities, Consultant and other utility provider for new deployment, network expansion and network relocation.
  • Supporting business units / groups (ie Sales, Marketing and Product) in developing a cost-effective OSP solution to meet business needs.
  • Ensure sufficient network resources and capacity to support business needs and requirement.
  • Maintain knowledge of current products and materials offering from vendors through seminar and training.
  • Monitor, study & upgrade the TRUNK capacity based on database by planning better the design to improve network capacity to support customer requirement.

To be considered, you'll need:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Land Survey, Electrical, Petroleum or similar field.
  • Experience: Preferably 5 7 years in an operating telecommunications provider or telecommunication industry.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge and familiar with on ground Outside Plant (OSP) related requirement (ie civil and fibre infrastructure including Trunk/MAN/CAN).
  • Have excellent customer-facing and internal communication skills, problem solving and organization skills & related qualification.
  • Strong written skills for effective communication to senior management and various stakeholders (internal & external).
  • Excellent time management, planning, budgeting and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • CFOS/D Certified Fibre Optic Specialist for Design certification is an added advantage.
