STEP is a 49,000 square meter premium furniture manufacturing company located in Beranang, Selangor. We're looking for a hardworking, detailed-orientated, experienced head of department with expertise in spray painting and colour formulation for paints and coatings.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing the spray painting section of 90+ workers and supervisors to ensure operational efficiency.
- Formulating paint colours according to specification of product.
- Conducting quality control to ensure all products are at the standard set by the company.
- Identifying opportunities and leveraging areas of strengths to improve operational efficiency.
- Troubleshooting any problems relating to the production line.
- Ensuring the team maintains a clean working environment and follows safety procedures set by the company.
- Training and on-boarding new teammates.
- Other ad-hoc duties related to production.
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of an SPM qualification.
- At least 5 years of working experience in spray painting in the wooden furniture industry.
- Working knowledge pertaining to wood materials.
- Working knowledge pertaining to different coatings (such paints, stains, and waxes) and their appliactions on wooden materials.
- Working knowledge of colour mixing.
- Must be able to speak Bahasa Malaysia and/or Mandarin.
- A positive working attitude, willingness to learn, and is able to work under pressure.
- Able to start immediately or soon.
