Job Summary
The Part-Time Lecturer Assistant (Marking) is responsible for marking student assessments in accordance with provided rubrics and academic standards. The role requires accuracy, consistency, and timely turnaround of results while maintaining strict confidentiality and academic integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Mark assignments, coursework, quizzes, or tests using approved marking rubrics
- Ensure fairness, consistency, and accuracy across all scripts
- Provide brief, constructive feedback where required
- Identify and flag potential plagiarism or academic misconduct
- Complete marking within assigned deadlines
- Record marks accurately in the designated system or spreadsheet
- Assist with moderation or remarking when requested
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant discipline
- Experience in marking, teaching assistance, tutoring, or academic support preferred
- Familiarity with academic assessment standards is an advantage
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Good written English (or subject-specific language as required)
- High level of integrity and confidentiality
- Comfortable with digital marking tools and documents (PDF, Word, Excel, Google Drive, LMS if applicable)
Compensation
- RM25–30 per hour (based on experience and subject)
Time Commitment
- Minimum 30–40 hours per month, flexible
- Estimated 15 minutes per student script (≈ 4 students per hour)
- Workload may increase during peak assessment periods
