Responsibilities 1. Responsible for monthly end-to-end payroll activities such as collating and validating inputs, outputs, and statutory reporting in Japanese market 2. Participate in the improvement and implementation of payroll processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy 3. Support payroll and benefits processes in accordance with new policies or changes in laws and regulations 4. Provide payroll reporting and analysis to the finance team and assist with internal and external audits 5. Manage payroll vendors effectively by strictly adhering to contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) 6. Develop relationships with authorities, including social security, tax, and others 7. Partner and work collaboratively with HR business partners and the HR operations team to enhance the employee experience.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications 1. Fluency in Japanese and English, as daily responsibilities will be working with employees in the Japan market, as well as stakeholders across English-speaking regions. 2. 3 years of experience in in-house payroll operation 3. Hands-on, strong functional knowledge of payroll and tax knowledge in Japan 4. Proven track record in providing a high standard of payroll verification and checking skills 5. Experience in legal and compliance audits in payroll, such as income taxes, statutory social securities 6. Strong influence and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications 1. Experience managing Japanese payroll 2. Bachelor's degree or above 3. Vendor management and project management skills 4. Experience in payroll system implementation 5. Highly proficient and excellent communication skills.
