About the Role:

As a People Strategy Partner in travel retail industry, your primary responsibility is to provide strategic HR support and guidance to all brands and categories within KLIA. You will collaborate closely with local retail management teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals, foster a positive workplace culture, and drive employee engagement. This role plays a critical part in executing HR initiatives, addressing employee concerns, and implementing best practices across the region.

Key Responsibility Areas:

Strategic HR Leadership:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives.
  • Develop and execute HR plans tailored to each brand and category within KLIA.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labour laws and regulations.

Talent Acquisition and Retention:

  • Partner with local hiring managers to identify staffing needs and implement effective recruitment strategies.
  • Support onboarding processes and retention initiatives to reduce turnover rates.
  • Strategize and report exit interview data with retention strategies to better plan manpower within the organization/KLIA.
  • Monitor employee morale and propose engagement strategies.

Employee Relations:

  • Provide guidance and support to resolve employee relations issues, such as conflicts, disputes, and performance management.
  • Conduct investigations when necessary, ensuring fairness and compliance.
  • Compile and report the overall flow in a data centric manner & action oriented.

Training and Development:

  • Identify training needs based on overall HR data and collaborate with Learning & Development team to drive training programs.
  • Facilitate or coordinate training sessions for employees and managers.
  • Coordinate with the L&D team to align HR data and generate actionable insights that will enhance HR programs and initiatives

Performance Management:

  • Support performance appraisal processes, including goal setting, feedback, and performance improvement plans.
  • Oversee the compilation and tracking of the performance appraisal process, offer innovative system recommendations, and ensure clear communication of timelines
  • Assist in succession planning and talent development.

HR Metrics and Reporting:

  • Collect and analyse HR data to identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
  • Prepare regular reports on key HR metrics and trends within KLIA.
  • Assess the need for targeted hiring investments and provide regular updates on the effectiveness of current hiring channels.

Change Management:

  • Assist with the implementation of organizational changes and ensure smooth transitions.
  • Address employee concerns and resistance during change initiatives.
  • Conduct regular engagement activities and meaningful conversations with talent to identify potential risks and develop preventive strategies.

Compliance and Policies:

  • Ensure that HR policies, procedures, and practices are consistent and compliant with legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with local management to maintain a safe and inclusive work environment.
  • Propose policy reviews and initiate strategic discussions with HR leaders as needed or in response to employee concerns, ensuring the creation of effective solutions.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field (degree preferred).
  • SHRM or HRCI certification is a plus.
  • At least 5 years experience in HR roles, with a focus on retail, travel retail and multi-location environments.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office suite.
