Job Summary
The Personal Banking & Wealth banking Team Head leads and motivates a team of Personal Bankers to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service, contributing to the growth and profitability of the bank's personal banking segment.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Personal Bankers to meet and exceed individual and team sales targets for various banking products (e.g., deposits, loans, investments, insurance).
- Drive the implementation of sales strategies and initiatives to acquire new customers and deepen relationships with existing ones.
- Monitor team performance, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance appraisals to ensure continuous improvement.
- Ensure the team adheres to all internal policies, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards.
- Manage customer escalations and complex service issues, ensuring prompt and satisfactory resolution.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the personal banking operations.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as product development and marketing, to enhance customer offerings and achieve business objectives.
- Prepare and present regular reports on team performance, sales achievements, and market trends to senior management.
- Foster a positive and high-performance work environment that encourages teamwork, professional growth, and customer-centricity.
- Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and new product developments to maintain a competitive edge.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Banking, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in personal banking or retail banking, with at least 1 to 3years in a team leadership or supervisory role.
- Proven track record of consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets in a banking environment.
- Strong understanding of a wide range of banking products and services, including deposits, loans, investments, and insurance.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of local banking regulations and compliance requirements in Malaysia.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., FIMM, PCE, CEILI) are a distinct advantage.
