Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Personal Financial Consultant role based in Petaling Jaya. The Personal Financial Consultant will engage with customers to understand their financial goals and recommend suitable banking and investment solutions, including savings, insurance, and wealth management products. The role involves conducting financial needs analysis, preparing personalized financial plans, and providing clear explanations of product features, benefits, and risks. The consultant will manage and grow a portfolio of clients through proactive relationship building, follow-up, and cross-selling opportunities in line with CIMB's standards and compliance requirements. Daily tasks include meeting sales and service targets, maintaining accurate customer records, collaborating with branch teams, and staying updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and CIMB product offerings.
Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in financial planning and finance, with the ability to interpret financial information and propose suitable solutions.
  • Experience or knowledge in financial services, including banking products, investment instruments, and wealth management offerings.
  • Consulting skills to assess customer needs, provide objective guidance, and build trusted long-term relationships.
  • Sales skills, including prospecting, negotiation, and closing, with a focus on ethical and customer-centric practices.
  • Relevant diploma or degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Business, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CFP, financial planning credentials) are an advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts in clear, accessible language.
  • Results-oriented mindset, with good organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and compliance.
  • Comfort working in a branch environment and collaborating with team members to achieve shared performance goals.
