Position Overview
The Physics & Application Manager is responsible for the technical and clinical success of Transmedic's Radiation Oncology and Nuclear Medicine subdivision. This is a leadership role that balances Upstream Management (internal and external stakeholders), People Leadership (coaching and developing technical staff), and Business Support (ensuring technical excellence drives commercial growth). The Physics & Application Manager will be the architect of the support framework that ensures our hospital partners receive world-class clinical guidance.

- Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Coaching & Mentorship: Lead and develop the Physics & Application Specialist(s). Conduct regular technical reviews and provide guidance on complex clinical cases.
- Competency Framework: Establish a structured Succession & Training plan for the specialist team to ensure deep technical redundancy across the portfolio.
- Resource Allocation: Manage the specialist team schedule to balance pre-sales demonstrations, post-sales training, and emergency clinical support.
- Principal Liaison: Act as the primary technical point of contact for OEMs. Ensure Transmedic is aligned with the latest software roadmaps and clinical releases.
- Technical Advocacy: Negotiate with manufacturers for localized features or software patches required by the specific needs of regional hospitals.
- Training Certification: Ensure the team maintains all necessary certifications and stays updated on the lates global clinical protocols.
- Implementation Oversight: Oversee high-stakes installations and commissioning projects. While the specialist executes the tasks, the manager ensures the project hits clinical milestones on time.
- Workflow Consultancy: Provide high-level Physics Consulting to hospital department heads, advising on how to integrate solutions offered into their broader radiation oncology / nuclear medicine ecosystem.
- Technical Value Proposition: Partner with the Sales Manager to define the Clinical Edge of the portfolio. Translate technical physics advantages into business values for Hospital Administrators and CEOs.
- Tender Strategy: Review and sign off on technical tender submissions. Ensure that the proposed clinical configurations are feasible and meet the hospital's medical physics requirements.
- Degree in Medical Physics, Biomedical Engineering, or Physics. A Post-graduate degree (MBA/MSc/PhD) or clinical certification in Medical Physics is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a clinical setting or a similar application role with a distributor/OEM.
- Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or lead role, managing technical personnel or large-scale clinical projects
- Experience working within a distributor model is an added advantage.
- Deep familiarity with the OEM represented by Transmedic is an added advantage.
- Proven ability to coach technical specialists and manage Upstream relationships.
- Strong project management skills (e.g. oversight of clinical implementations).
- Strong conceptual understanding of Radiation Oncology and Nuclear Medicine workflows.
- Strong understanding of Radiation Physics, Dosimetry, and Imaging (CT/PET/MRI).
- Knowledge of HL7/DICOM standards and hospital IT integration.
- Exceptional ability to communicate complex scientific concepts to both clinical users and hospital administrators.
