We need a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain both
backend and frontend data management systems. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in
building robust, scalable frameworks that ensure high data quality and integrity, while enabling
efficient data delivery across internal and external platforms.
Key responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining data integration pipelines using industry-standard tools and best practices, implementing scalable governance and security frameworks, and ensuring reliable database management across distributed systems.
- The candidate should be comfortable working with cross-functional stakeholdersdata scientists, analysts, and product teamsto drive Agile initiatives that support advanced analytics and reporting.
- Someone who can design and implement database schemas for the SWIFT BI product portfolio, manage CI/CD pipelines, and conduct feasibility studies for new features.
- Supporting enterprise architecture initiatives, troubleshooting data infrastructure, and optimizing complex SQL queries and procedures (including PL/SQL and T-SQL) are essential aspects of the role.
- Contributing to Agile processes using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus, Git, and CloudBees
- Applying architectural best practices for storage and resiliency; integrating identity and access management protocols like LDAP, SAML, and Active Directory;
- Utilizing scripting languages such as Unix Shell for automation.
- Participation in both manual and automated testing for data platform components is expected, and familiarity with FNA front-end tools would be an added advantage.
Qualifications
- Someone with proven hands-on experience in data engineering, ETL development, and software development
- Strong expertise in SQL and database technologies (RDBMS and NoSQL, especially OracleDB).
- Solid programming experience in PL/SQL, familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices, and knowledge of architectural design, security concepts, and network fundamentals are all required.
Desirable skills
- Knowledge in network configurations and security (TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls, and reverse proxies), understanding of authentication and authorization technologies, and exposure to BI and visualization tools.
