Summary
You will be responsible for supporting the production planning and scheduling for designated products within our manufacturing environment. Working under close supervision, this role focuses on essential supply chain functions, including Master Production Schedule (MPS) and Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) activities, ensuring alignment between customer orders and production commitments, and managing material flow to support manufacturing. The incumbent will execute assignments within well-defined practices and contribute to efficient operations by proactively managing parts shortages and tracking shipment deadlines.
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
- Provide professional support in the planning and scheduling of production for designated product lines.
- Consolidate customer forecasts and perform essential MPS/MRP inputting and data validation.
- Maintain responsibility for parameter management and reporting related to designated products.
- Ensure customer purchase orders are accurately aligned with the production schedule.
- Coordinate shop order releases and materials kitting requirements.
- Identify potential parts shortages and collaborate with relevant teams to expedite material and/or approve material substitution to prevent production delays.
- Assist with product End-of-Life (EOL) analysis and the development of required action plans.
- Track shipments against committed dates and proactively notify the Senior Planner of potential delivery issues.
- Provide Return Material Authorization (RMA) approvals as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 2 years of relevant experienceas a Planner in the Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) industry, specifically with PCBA.
- Basic to solid knowledge of production planning fundamentals, scheduling, materials requirements planning (MRP) techniques, and manufacturing control systems.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and the ability to quickly learn and utilize multiple department-specific applications, including the ERP and office systems.
- Basic knowledge of purchasing principles, techniques, and philosophies.
- Basic math, data entry, and 10-key skills are required.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining strong attention to detail and accuracy under tight deadlines.
- Proven ability to evaluate, prioritize, and problem-solve a variety of tasks to ensure timely and accurate completion.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
