Our Client:
We are partnering with a MNC that specializes in FMCG Manufacturing. The company is expanding their Malaysia operations and looking for a Plant Manager as part of their strategic growth.
Responsibility:
- Manage the overall operations of the production plant with a focus on cost efficiency and profit performance (P&L).
- Create and execute operational plans for the facility that align with company goals.
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet delivery schedules and customer orders.
- Monitor production metrics to improve daily output and reduce machine downtime.
- Manage and optimize plant resources, including machinery, materials, and manpower.
- Work closely with the planning and supply chain teams to ensure raw materials are always available.
- Enforce strict quality control standards to make sure products meet or exceed required industry regulations.
- Maintain a zero-accident working environment by setting up clear safety protocols and conducting regular site audits.
- Ensure immediate reporting and action regarding any incidents related to food safety or product compliance.
- Develop and control the plant budget, tracking expenses to find practical cost-saving opportunities without lowering quality.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement using basic lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste.
- Coordinate with different department heads to ensure clear communication across the entire facility.
- Provide regular performance updates, reports, and strategic feedback to senior management.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the factory workforce, managing performance reviews and training needs.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Business Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 to 12 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a proven track record in a plant manager, factory manager, or senior operational leadership role.
- Solid understanding of production workflows, quality management systems, budgeting, and safety regulations.
- Practical experience working with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement tools.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, communicate with, and motivate a diverse team of workers.
- Experience working within food manufacturing, food packaging, FMCG, or ingredients sectors would be an added bonus.
- Good knowledge or certifications in food safety systems, such as HACCP, ISO 22000, or GMP would be an added bonus.
