We are partnering with a MNC that specializes in Manufacturing Industry. The company is expanding their Malaysia operations and looking for a Plant Operations Manager as part of their strategic growth.
Responsibility:
- Direct and oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations, including production, engineering, supply chain, quality assurance, safety, and maintenance.
- Establish clear key performance indicators (KPIs) for productivity, machine utilization (OEE), scrap minimization, and on-time delivery.
- Drive manufacturing cost-reduction programs through effective capacity planning, labor allocation, and overhead controls.
- Cultivate a zero-accident mindset across the entire workforce, enforcing absolute compliance with Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) and Department of Environment (DOE) standards.
- Lead incident investigation, root-cause analysis, and regular plant audits to eliminate potential structural and operational hazards.
- Lead the facility's Lean transformation by embedding principles such as Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma, and Value Stream Mapping into daily routines.
- Optimize highly integrated production layouts, raw material flow, and warehousing processes to reduce lead times and operational waste.
- Ensure strict compliance with global quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and industry-specific certifications).
- Champion proactive Preventive and Predictive Maintenance frameworks to maintain critical industrial machinery, automation systems, and high-speed processing equipment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial) or equivalent operations background.
- Minimum 10 to 15 years of solid manufacturing experience, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role (Plant Manager, Factory Manager, or Operations Director) overseeing plant operations.
- High-value industrial systems, process control instrumentation, or complex electro-mechanical assembly.
- Consumer or industrial packaging, automated conversion lines, or high-volume precision molding/forming sectors.
- Exceptional mastery of Lean Manufacturing tools, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and modern Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools.
- A collaborative, firm, and emotionally resilient leader capable of managing diverse manufacturing teams and driving operational accountability.
- Excellent command of English, with strong local language proficiency to communicate effectively with plant-floor operators and corporate regional stakeholders.
