Platform Engineering Manager

About the role

In this role, you will play a key part in evolving the platform, strengthening operational excellence, and ensuring reliability and availability remain core priorities. You will translate strategic objectives into actionable plans, remove delivery roadblocks, and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

This role is critical in building team capability, supporting business priorities, and ensuring platform services scale efficiently to meet market demands.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and develop engineers across the full employee lifecycle (hiring, onboarding, development, and retention).
• Translate company and platform strategy into clear, actionable goals for your team.
• Ensure strong capabilities across platform engineering, reliability engineering, and operational excellence.
• Remove roadblocks to enable the efficient delivery of high-quality platform solutions.
• Collaborate closely with Product and Technology leadership to strengthen engineering effectiveness.
• Work hands-on with a modern technology stack, including AWS Cloud, AWS DynamoDB, AWS Lambda, multi-cloud platforms (Akamai Cloud, Azure, GCP, or other providers), CDNs, Cassandra DB, Kafka, and messaging technologies (NATS/MQ).
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of operating workloads across a modern technology stack, including .NET Core, C#, and Node.js.

Qualifications

Technical Requirements (Must Have):

• 10+ years of experience within SRE, Platform Engineering, or DevOps.
• Proven hands on experience across multi-cloud platforms, with AWS as a mandatory requirement.
• Understanding of operating workloads of a modern technology stack including .NET Core, C#, Node.js or Java.
• 5+ years of technical leadership and people management experience.
• Proven track record of delivering high-availability services.

Technical Requirements (Good to Have):

• Familiarity with Akamai cloud.

Education

Academic degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or similar.

Travelling

You will be required to travel to Copenhagen for the first three months to undergo onboarding and training
