Pollination Operator

JOB DESCRIPTION

To plan, implement and monitor the targeted production capacity of seeds based on the estate operations requirements and demands.

To supervise staff and workers productivity to ensure compliance, productivity and efficiency as stated in the Standard Operation Procedures (SOP).

To maintain compliance with regulatory requirements for business continuation.

To verify all bagging and pollination of female inflorescences.

To verify harvesting of pollinated seed bunches.

To plan field maintenance schedule according to standard agronomic practices and additional practices recommended by the management.

To maintain the pollination and harvesting records for quality control and reference.

To compile daily bagging, pollination and harvesting records.

To verify bagging and harvesting male inflorescence.

To conduct pollen processing, storage and inventory.

To ensure all the pollen harvested tested for legitimacy and viability prior to use.

To verify pollen issuance to the pollinators and to ensure pollen of good quality issued. Ensure the pollen ratio that used is correct and no wastage of pollen usage.

To report and initiate preventive/correction on non-conformities.

To maintain all records as required by the management and to be updated at all times.

To monitor monthly material stocks are sufficient.

To prepare monthly check roll and report for field operation activities.

To provide training to subordinates for productivity and discipline.

To maintain strict security and good upkeep of company property.

To promote safety awareness to ensure zero accident.

To act as an alternate staff-in-charge of the seed production and any other duties requested by the management.

To monitor workplace to ensure compliance with legal requirements and procedures and work instructions relevant to their operational responsibilities

To maintain seed processing equipment/machineries and facilities.

To conduct data collection, recording and produce report.

Constantly update knowledge on new practices and latest developments in oil palm seed production industry trends and advancements.

To ensure that corporate policies, R&D policies, and other policies/practices are followed when conducting commercial/research projects.

Other duties and responsibilities are determined by the needs of the Company.

BASIC EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

Minimum SPM

And/or previous experience in oil palm pollination and seed production.
