Job Description

Position Objective

Responsible for managing fixed income portfolios to outperform benchmark indices and achieve consistent top-quartile performance relative to peers.

Job Responsibilities

1. Manage fixed income portfolios for both institutional clients and unit trusts in line with specified investment objectives.

2. Devise and implement effective portfolio investment strategies.

3. Monitor financial markets and stay updated on developments that may impact portfolio positions and performance.

4. Collaborate closely with the credit research team to implement investment ideas and monitor existing holdings.

5. Contribute to idea generation across credit, rates, and FX markets where relevant.

6. Conduct country analysis, including monetary policies, macroeconomic indicators, political outlook, and FX trends.

7. Where applicable, provide sector and credit coverage, including performing credit analysis and ongoing reviews.

8. Evaluate investee companies exposure to ESG risks and opportunities, and assess how these are managed through corporate engagement and other data sources.

9. Prepare market outlooks, investment strategies, and performance reports; present findings to the investment committee and/or board of directors.

10. Ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements and applicable laws affecting portfolios and business operations.

11. Actively engage with prospects, clients, brokers, and consultants to support and promote business development initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and/or professional qualification in a relevant discipline; CFA designation is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in investment-related roles or within an asset management firm.
  • Proven track record of delivering strong investment performance.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to make sound and rational decisions.
  • High level of integrity and a strong sense of fiduciary responsibility towards clients and the firm.
  • Strong communication skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and potential for leadership.
  • Open-minded, flexible, and receptive to diverse perspectives.
