Role Overview
Lead a team in conducting network studies, modeling, simulation, and analysis using industry-standard software. The role supports project design and grid integration studies for renewable energy and energy storage systems, including protection coordination and planning for generation, transmission, and distribution projects.
Education & Experience
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Systems / Power Electronics. PhD preferred.
- 10+ years of professional experience in the Power Systems domain.
Technical Requirements
- Strong foundation in power system fundamentals including load flow, fault analysis, protection principles, and generator/converter control.
- Practical experience in grid integration of renewable energy and battery energy storage systems, along with grid compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of relevant standards and grid codes such as IEC, IEEE, and applicable utility codes.
- Hands-on experience with MATLAB, PSCAD, PSS®E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP, or similar tools.
- Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
Mandatory Skills
- Experience in renewable energy integration (wind, solar PV, battery energy storage systems), engineering, and project execution. Modeling of various power system elements for steady-state, transient, and EMT studies.
- Familiarity with Python and cloud-based tools.
Good to Have Skills
- Additional experience in advanced power system studies and automation workflows.(Section was blank in source JD.)
Experience
Key Responsibilities
- Execute load flow, short-circuit, harmonic, steady-state, dynamic, and transient stability studies for transmission and distribution networks. Lead study planning, task allocation, and delivery management.
- Build and validate detailed models of generators, inverters, transformers, transmission lines, loads, and protection systems using PSCAD, PSS®E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP, and MATLAB. Maintain model governance and validated model libraries.
- Develop Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) based on project requirements defined by project managers.
- Build and validate models in DIgSILENT, perform testing, support Python-based interface development, validate use cases with stakeholders, and recommend continuous improvements to power system tools and solutions.
