Principal Consultant
The Technical Product Owner (TPO) drives end‑to‑end delivery of digital and technology products within Agile squads. The role bridges business (life and health insurance), product strategy, and engineering execution, ensuring that technical solutions align with product vision, scalability, and enterprise architecture.
Works closely with Product Managers, Engineering Leads, Architects, and UX teams to translate strategic roadmaps into technology-ready backlogs, user stories, and deliverables.
Job Responsibilities
Product Discovery
- Work closely with the regional clients, operations, and CX stakeholders to iteratively design features that serves both end-customer and operational needs
- Transform business requirements into a product that can be scalable across multiple markets in the region
Product & Technical Ownership
- Own and manage the technical product backlog, ensuring clear prioritisation aligned to business and technical goals
- Translate product requirements into detailed technical user stories, acceptance criteria, and solution designs
- Ensure alignment with architecture, APIs, data flows, and integration patterns
Delivery & Execution
- Work closely with engineering teams to drive sprint planning, backlog grooming, and delivery execution
- Remove blockers and ensure smooth end‑to‑end delivery across systems and dependencies
- Validate delivered features against functional and technical acceptance criteria
Stakeholder & Squad Alignment
- Act as the primary interface between product, business, and engineering teams
- Collaborate with architects, DevOps, security, and platform teams to ensure compliant and scalable solutions
- Manage dependencies across multiple systems, vendors, and markets
Technical Design & Governance
- Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, security, and compliance standards
- Review and validate API contracts, integration design, and system interactions
- Support technical decision-making with trade-offs between speed, cost, and scalability
Data-Driven Product Development
- Leverage data and insights to inform product decisions and prioritisation
- Track product and technical KPIs (performance, reliability, adoption)
- Drive continuous improvement through experimentation and feedback loops
Job Requirements
- Proven experience as a Technical Product Owner / Product Owner / Delivery Lead in Agile environments
- Understanding of:
- APIs, microservices, cloud platforms (e.g. Azure / AWS / Google Cloud)
- System integrations and middleware
- Data platforms and analytics (e.g. Mixpanel)
- Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements backlog (epics, stories)
- Strong stakeholder management across business and engineering teams to conduct backlog grooming, prioritisation decisions based on business value
- Good understanding of design from usability, user experience principles perspective
- Product and design thinking are expected traits to critically assess business demands and deliver value to stakeholders
- Experience working in cross-functional squads and large enterprise environments
- Experience in multi-market or partner-integrated ecosystems
- Experience in digital journeys, and tech product management
- Experience with Agile delivery processes and tools (Jira, Confluence, or equivalent)
- Experience in insurance customer servicing, and payments are a good to have
- Experience with design tools to conduct conceptual designs will be a bonus (e.g. Figma)
- Exposure to AI / GenAI use cases in product development, automation, or operational efficiency will be a plus
