Job Description

Overview

The role holder is responsible for providing leadership to the academic and administrations functions of the campus, developing a clear mission and vision, and ensuring smooth operations.

Responsibilities

Leadership:

- Leads the Academic and Non-Academic functions in the dedicated campus

- Designs and delivers annual Academic priorities and organizational strategies in line with the organisation's business plan

- Aligns the campus's mission and vision and designs policies, procedures and processes to GSG's academic direction

- Ensures the highest standards in the curriculum and pedagogy for the implementation of the curriculum, and timely interventions for curricular and pedagogical corrections

Financial:

- Works closely with the Associate Director, Business Operations, Deputy Chief Operating Officer (Dy. COO) and Country Director on the forecasting and budgeting process

- Discusses the previous year's data to determine trends and makes predictions for the current year in terms of potential enrolments numbers and the various expenses, such as Human Resources, facilities, projects, academic resourcing

- Provides inputs to the staffing budget to ensure learning standards will not be compromised

Functional:

Strategic:

- Identifies and communications key goals and performance indicators and sets measurable targets to evaluation staff's performance

- Develops, monitors, and reviews strategic plans and processes to best employ expertise, talent and resources for the campus

- Reviews succession plans for Coordinators

Academics Operations:

- Oversees the IGCSE curriculums in the campus

- Supports the Sr. Academic Head in curriculum planning and vetting

- Facilities inter-campus projects, activities, or sharing sessions with the other campuses

- Works closely with the Sr. Academic Head, Academics and Academic Quality Assurance to understand student achievements, results and feedback in the campus, and to identify areas for improvement

- Provides assistance to the teachers in order to improve their teaching capabilities and instructional techniques

- Evaluate teaching programmes relevancy and effectiveness relating to the development of students cognitive, physical, aesthetic, social and moral, and leadership capabilities

Non-Academic Operations:

- Collaborates with the Admissions Head to increase admission numbers and strengthen the campus's reputation

- Works closely with the Operations Head to ensure smooth operations in the campus, facilities and cleanliness are maintained, emergency evacuation procedures are developed, IT systems are up-to-date, etc.

- Works closely with Human Resources for payroll, recruitment, training and development matters

- Works closely with Finance on budgeting and fee collection

Interaction:

- Maintains relationships with local regulators and ensures compliance with the statutory requirements

- Addresses complex parent enquiries

People Focus:

- Collaborates proactively with Human Resources to continuously increase competency within the campus to meet future needs through the development and recruitment of talent

- Leads the recruitment, selection, orientation, and training of employees in the function

- Builds and manages high performing teams within the campus by providing leadership, role clarity, training and career development

Skills Description

Qualification:

A Bachelor's Degree, supported by a recognised qualification in education.

A Master's Degree (or pursuing one) in Education, Education Administration or Curriculum Studies

A minimum of ten years teaching experience, with at least five in a leadership role

3. Communication Skills

Clear and Effective Communication: Ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders (teachers, students, parents, the community, and district leaders) in a clear, professional, and empathetic manner.

Public Speaking: Being comfortable addressing large groups, whether in meetings, school assemblies, or community events.

Active Listening: Listening to the concerns and ideas of students, staff, and parents and responding appropriately.

Writing Skills: Writing clear, concise reports, emails, newsletters, and memos.

4. Administrative and Organizational Skills

Time Management: Balancing multiple tasks, responsibilities, and deadlines effectively to keep the school running smoothly.

Resource Management: Managing the school's budget, facilities, and supplies efficiently.

Compliance and Policy Knowledge: Understanding and enforcing local, state, and federal education policies and laws, as well as school district guidelines.

Risk Management and Safety: Ensuring that the school provides a safe and secure environment for students and staff.

Budget Management: Creating and managing budgets for the school, allocating resources effectively to meet educational goals.

Fundraising and Grant Writing: Identifying funding opportunities and applying for grants to support school initiatives.

Resource Allocation: Ensuring efficient use of school funds to improve student outcomes, teacher resources, and school facilities.

10. Community Engagement and Advocacy

Building Community Partnerships: Developing relationships with local businesses, organizations, and stakeholders to support the school's initiatives and students.

Parental Involvement: Engaging parents and guardians in the educational process, encouraging their participation in school activities, and addressing their concerns.

Advocacy: Representing the school's needs and interests at district meetings, with local government officials, and within the community.
