Role Summary
Lead and govern Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) systems for battery manufacturing operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and a strong safety culture across processes involving chemicals, energy storage, and high-risk operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead EHS strategy, standards, and governance for the site
- Ensure compliance with applicable local EHS regulations and other compliance obligations
- Proactively Identify and mitigate risks related to cell thermal runaway, machinery, gas/electrical safety
- Conduct OSH risk assessments, and lead EHS incident investigations
- Drive emergency response and site fire safety program, including ERT, fire risk assessment etc.
- Lead DOSH/DOE/other regulatory audits, inspections, and corrective/preventive actions
- In charge of site ISO45001 certification and maintain the management system and its documentation.
- Support new process, equipment, and plant expansions with EHS approvals
- Provide training and establish EHS program to further strengthen EHS awareness and culture
Qualifications & Experience
- Radiation Protection Officer (RPO) and Safety and Health Officer (SHO)
- At least 5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing industry
- Strong knowledge of fire safety, ergonomics, machine safety. Experience in battery manufacturing is preferred.
Other competencies preferred ; CePSWaM, Ergonomic Trained Person, ISO14001 or ISO45001 internal auditor
