Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented PCB Design Engineer to join our hardware engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing printed circuit boards (PCBs) for a variety of electronic applications. This role demands expertise in PCB layout, design tools, and a strong understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, and manufacturability. If you are passionate about crafting high-quality PCB designs and enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:PCB Design and Development

Design multi-layer PCBs, including high-speed and high-density layouts, using tools such as Altium Designer, KiCAD, or equivalent.

Perform schematic capture and create detailed PCB layouts for analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits.

Optimize layouts for signal integrity, power distribution, and thermal performance.

Manufacturing and Assembly Support

Generate and review design files, including Gerber files, fabrication, and assembly drawings.

Collaborate with manufacturing partners to ensure designs meet fabrication and assembly requirements.

Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews.

Testing and Validation

Work closely with hardware engineers to validate PCB designs through testing and debugging.

Use testing equipment like oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers to troubleshoot board-level issues.

Ensure all designs meet quality, performance, and reliability standards.

Collaboration and Documentation

Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software teams to integrate PCBs into complete systems.

Maintain detailed documentation for designs, including schematics, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and design revisions.

Participate in design reviews to ensure alignment with project goals and technical standards.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

Stay updated on the latest trends in PCB design, materials, and manufacturing techniques.

Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance design efficiency and quality.

Required Skills and Expertise:PCB Design Tools

Proficiency in PCB design software such as Altium Designer, KiCAD, or Cadence Allegro.

Familiarity with simulation tools for signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal analysis.

Design Knowledge

Strong understanding of PCB design principles, including impedance control, routing, and layer stack-up.

Experience with high-speed digital designs and power supply layouts.

Knowledge of EMI/EMC compliance and mitigation techniques.

Manufacturing and Testing

Understanding of PCB fabrication and assembly processes.

Familiarity with standards such as IPC-2221 and IPC-7351 for PCB design and manufacturing.

Experience with PCB debugging and testing methodologies.

Collaboration and Communication

Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Excellent documentation and communication skills to convey design concepts and updates.

Nice to Have:

Experience with flex and rigid-flex PCB designs.

Knowledge of low-power or wearable device PCB layouts.

Familiarity with 3D modeling tools for mechanical integration.

Hands-on experience with RF PCB design and testing.

Proficiency in scripting for automation using tools like Python, Tcl, or shell scripts to streamline PCB design processes and workflows.

What We Offer:

Opportunity to work on innovative electronic hardware projects.

A collaborative and supportive work environment.

Continuous learning and development opportunities.
