Process/Assembly Technician (Industrial Engineering Department)
Job Description
- Perform assembly and process tasks according to approved work instructions, drawings, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot assembly tools, jigs, fixtures, and production equipment.
- Support new process introductions, line setup, process changes, and pilot runs.
- Assist in time studies, work measurement, and process validation activities.
- Support Industrial Engineers in lean initiatives, productivity improvement, and waste reduction (e.g. Kaizen, line balancing).
- Provide feedback on assembly methods and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and ergonomics.
- Assist in implementing standardized work and best practices across production lines.
- Maintain accurate records of process parameters, output, and issues encountered.
- Assist with updating work instructions, process flow documents, and visual aids.
- Support audits and compliance requirements as required.
Requirements
- Diploma / Certificate in an Engineering Field OR minimum 2 years of related experience and/or training, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Familiarity with basic lean concepts and continuous improvement is an advantage.
- Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Open location based at Penang (Bayan Lepas and Batu Kawan)
