Job Summary

The Process Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes within the Powertrain production environment to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations. Working closely with cross-functional teams, this role supports new product introductions, process improvements, equipment implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining high standards of quality and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

1. Process Development & Improvement

  • Develop, implement, and validate manufacturing processes to ensure product quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead the implementation of product and process changes while ensuring compliance with engineering and production requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes through continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing principles.

2. Project & Equipment Management

  • Lead the planning, procurement, installation, commissioning, and verification of manufacturing equipment.
  • Support the introduction of new products, production programs, and non-product engineering projects within the assigned area.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with safety and quality standards.
  • Monitor project progress and escalate risks or issues when necessary.

3. Manufacturing Process & Quality Assurance

  • Prepare and maintain Equipment FMEA and contribute to Process FMEA to identify and mitigate manufacturing risks.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes meet product specifications, quality standards, and production requirements.
  • Apply engineering knowledge to resolve technical issues and improve process capability.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Logistics, and other engineering teams to support manufacturing operations.
  • Collaborate with global and local stakeholders to implement best practices and standardized manufacturing processes.
  • Share technical knowledge and lessons learned to promote continuous improvement across the organization.

5. Continuous Improvement

  • Drive Lean Manufacturing, Industry 4.0, automation, and process optimization initiatives to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous learning within the engineering team.
  • Support workload planning and collaborate with team members to optimize project execution and resource utilization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in process engineering within the powertrain or automotive manufacturing industry.
  • Proficient in 3D modelling software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or AutoCAD.
  • Proficient in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), ERP systems, or related manufacturing technologies.
  • Familiarity with Industry 4.0, automation, robotics, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a cross-functional and multicultural environment.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Good command of English. Proficiency in Mandarin will be an added advantage.
