Job Description

Process Engineer 

Job Summary

The Process Engineer is responsible for designing, optimizing, and sustaining assembly processes to ensure efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective production. This role focuses on improving workflow, reducing cycle times, eliminating waste, and ensuring that assembly operations meet safety, quality, and productivity targets. 

Positions Responsibilities 

Process Design & Optimization 

• Develop and implement assembly processes, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) 

• Analyze and optimize line layout, workstation design, and material flow 

• Conduct time studies and line balancing to improve efficiency and throughput  

Continuous Improvement  

• Identify process inefficiencies and implement Lean manufacturing initiatives 

• Apply methodologies such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 5S to reduce waste and variation 

• Drive cost reduction and productivity improvement projects  

Production Support 

• Provide daily engineering support to assembly lines to resolve technical issues 

• Troubleshoot equipment, tooling, and process-related problems 

• Work closely with production teams to ensure smooth operations  

Quality & Compliance 

• Ensure assembly processes meet product quality standards and specifications 

• Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) 

• Collaborate with Quality teams on audits, inspections, and defect reduction  

New Product Introduction (NPI) 

• Support new product launches by developing assembly processes and tooling 

• Conduct process validation (e.g., PFMEA, control plans, capability studies) 

• Ensure readiness for mass production 

Tooling & Equipment Management 

• Specify, design, and validate assembly fixtures, jigs, and equipment 

• Coordinate with vendors for equipment procurement and commissioning 

• Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of assembly tools  

Documentation & Reporting 

• Maintain accurate process documentation (SOPs, work instructions, process flows) 

• Track and report KPIs such as cycle time, yield, and downtime 

• Use data analysis to support decision-making and improvements 

Reporting Structure

This position reports to the Operations Manager. 

Position Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related Engineering field

• 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing or assembly process engineering

• Applicants from the automotive industry are encouraged to apply. 

• Knowledge of assembly techniques, production systems, and industrial engineering principles

• Experience with process improvement tools (Lean, Six Sigma)

• Proficiency in CAD tools and MS Excel

• Proficient in English and Bahasa.

• Good organization, communication, and general inter-personal skills.
