Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, qualify, and optimize wafer fabrication processes for Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) technologies to support high-reliability power semiconductor applications in industrial and energy systems.

  • Establish and improve process flows, materials, and methodologies to meet product performance, quality, and cost targets in line with Fuji Electric manufacturing standards.

  • Demonstrate strong support of wafer process integration, including key modules such as oxidation, lithography, ion implantation, diffusion, etching, thin film deposition, and metallization, with focus on IGBT device characteristics.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to achieve:

  • High yield and product quality (defect reduction, wafer handling robustness, parametric stability, reliability assurance)
  • Stable and repeatable processes (tight process control, reduced variation, improved capability indices)
  • Productivity and operational efficiency (cycle time reduction, throughput optimization)
  • Cost effectiveness (material optimization, process simplification, resource and energy efficiency)

  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for process deviations, yield loss, and electrical failures using structured problem-solving approaches.

  • Monitor and control critical process parameters (CPP) and critical-to-quality (CTQ) characteristics to ensure consistent manufacturing performance.

  • Support new technology introduction, process qualification, and transfer from development to mass production, ensuring smooth ramp-up and process stability.

  • Performing in-depth analysis of electrical test parameters and characteristics to drive process optimization prototype.

  • Participate in equipment setup, evaluation, and qualification, including process matching and optimization for production readiness.

  • Conduct Design of Experiments (DOE) to systematically evaluate process variables and define optimal operating windows.

  • Prepare and maintain detailed process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOP), and technical reports in compliance with internal quality systems.

  • Train and guide engineers and technicians to ensure adherence to process standards and continuous skill development.

  • Propose practical and innovative engineering solutions to enhance yield, device reliability, and manufacturing robustness.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in semiconductor wafer fabrication, process engineering, or development is an added advantage.
  • Fresh graduates with relevant academic projects, internships, or coursework in semiconductor processing are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and hands-on engineering skills.
  • Detail-oriented, disciplined, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively across production, quality, and engineering teams.
  • Willingness to work in a cleanroom environment and support production or development activities as required.
